Phil Rashkin is an oboist, conductor, pianist, and composer who performs and teaches music around the world. He toured with Josh Groban for the release of his album Stages, and performed at the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards with Paul Shaffer, Joe Torre, and Martha Stewart. He played multiple seasons with the Downtown Sinfonietta chamber orchestra with members from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Additionally, Phil Rashkin was featured in the Amazon television series Mozart in the Jungle and Netflix original movie Maestro starring Bradley Cooper. He was the music director of Opera Upper West, and the assistant conductor of the Manhattan Symphonie. He currently conducts the Wind Ensemble at the Special Music High School, a public K-12 school for musically prodigious children. Phil Rashkin holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in music from Mannes College The New School for Music. He has taught at The Horace Mann School, Mannes Preparatory at The New School, Kinhaven Music School, The Kaufman Music Center, and Manhattan School of Music Summer. Phil Rashkin’s musicianship has been described as "particularly ravishing" (The Observer) and "choice, tersely delivered moments from Phil Rashkin" (Lucid Culture).
