Alexander Theiss is currently an active performer and educator in New York City. In addition to his private lesson studios, he has also served as a public school music educator in Maryland, Texas, and New York. Alexander has performed under the direction of many prestigious conductors such as Joel Revzen and Gerard Schwartz, as well as performances at Alice Tully and Carnegie Hall. Mr. Theiss is also active in performing and pedagogical summer festivals, serving as an orchestral performer at Festival Napa Valley and Lake George Music Festival, as well as winning fellowships at the Fresno Summer Orchestra and The Art of Wind Band Teaching Symposium. During his education, Mr. Theiss was featured in “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” as well as earning the Texas Music Education Association Student Teacher Scholarship. As a Graduate Assistant at Texas Christian University Alexander assisted in facilitating the TCU Trombone Summit, conducted performances with the TCU trombone choir, and performed as a soloist in the school’s Honors Recital. Alexander received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Texas Tech University where he was a Drum Major for the Marching Band and active educator years after for their summer band and orchestra camp.
