Amal: Interpreting Culture Creatively

Amal came to Parsons as a self-taught photographer and videographer from a culinarily inclined family. After finding Parsons’ hybrid bachelor’s program combining studio arts and in-depth cultural critique, he set off on a journey into his own history. Four years later, he’s established a creative practice of personal expression and gained the critical skills needed to forge a path into emerging new fields where food and performance come together to shed light on cultural change.
