• Andrés: Crossing Musical and Scholarly Boundaries

  • Andrés was drawn to The New School for its dual-degree undergraduate program, in which he could delve into the liberal arts while continuing to master guitar and vocal performance, studies he had begun at home in Mexico. The experimental approach to music at the College of Performing Arts transformed Andrés as a performer, making him more present onstage. And his anthropology studies at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts enabled him to see himself as part of a global community of creative immigrants who are developing new hybrid forms of music.
