The Master of Science is awarded for successful completion of 36 credits, including a Capstone course in which students work closely with a faculty advisor to complete either a master's business plan or enterprise solution. The coursework introduces management
structures, strategies and methods, finance, networked collaboration, Internet culture, and contemporary media practices. Our extensive curriculum and limited number of required courses give students many ways to design their own paths through the
program. Many students focus their studies in one or more subject areas, but you are not required to do so to earn the MS.

Capstone Project
In the final Capstone project class, students synthesize the principles they have learned during their coursework to solve a problem that involves a sector of media that is of particular interest to them. The culminating project will represent an innovative
management solution or an orignal business proposal.
Course Waivers
Students who have significant experience in media design can apply to have this requirement waived by emailing [email protected]. Approval
of a requirement waiver fulfills the degree requirement but does not count toward the number of credits required for the completion of a degree. It allows a student, in consultation with their advisor, to select another course for the same number
of credits to be taken in lieu of the waived course.
Electives
With special permission, you may take courses outside the School of Media Studies to fulfill your elective requirements. Please contact [email protected] for information on how to
get approval to take elective courses in other colleges.
Graduate Minors
You can also use your elective courses to complete one of the university’s graduate minors, which provide a structured, accessible way to complement your primary course of study with fresh ways
of thinking. Your graduate minor is officially recorded on your transcript.
STEM Eligibility for International Applicants
This program is STEM-designated. After graduating, eligible F-1 students in this program can apply for an additional 24 months of Optional Practical Training at the end of their Post-Completion
    OPT.
Online Learning
Our online program of study allows you to complete some or all of the requirements for the MS in Media Management from anywhere in the world. Online-only students are integrated into the Media Management community through a Web version of our New Student
Orientation, online access to program advisors, and participation in the required Media Management and Leadership, Media Economics, and Media Ethics courses. Students can choose from a variety of online elective courses and will be able to develop
their final Capstone project online as well.
