Lindsey Interlante was appointed vice provost for Planning, Operations, and Communications in the Provost’s Office in June 2025. In this role, Lindsey oversees planning, operations, and communications for the Provost’s Office. She serves as a key aide
in driving effective communication about and implementation of decisions and initiatives connected to strategic functions, priorities, and New School academic programs.
Lindsey has extensive experience in higher education leadership, academic collaboration, and strategic program development. Most recently, she served as executive director of the Five Colleges of Ohio (OH5), a consortium of nationally recognized liberal
arts institutions consisting of Denison University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, and The College of Wooster. In this role, Lindsey led a wide-ranging portfolio of shared academic initiatives and operational partnerships
across member campuses. Her work contributed to more than $1.1 million in verified annual cost savings through collaborative procurement efforts. She also co-led the OH5–Ohio State University Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, helped
secure and manage more than $500,000 in grant funding, and developed partnerships with organizations such as Starlab and regional employers to expand experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty.
Before working with the OH5, Lindsey served for nearly eight years as executive director of the Coastal Athletic Association Academic Alliance, where she launched the Innovate/Collaborate Grant Program, designed to foster academic innovation, experiential learning, and cross-campus
research. She has also held leadership roles in ensuring institutional effectiveness and strategic planning in a statewide community college system, a national higher education association, a public research university, and the New Jersey Highlands
Council, where she managed a $20 million public grant portfolio supporting sustainable development and water resource protection in northern New Jersey.
Lindsey holds a PhD in Urban Affairs and Public Policy and an MPA from the University of Delaware, an MA in Geography from Arizona State University, and a BS in Business Administration from The College of New Jersey. Her research focuses on urban fiscal
health, public finance, and spatial inequality, with particular attention to the role of the Earned Income Tax Credit in promoting economic resilience and equity across cities.
